Bernard Dawe oral history, 1964.

In this interview, Bernard Dawe shares his observations of the production of Gerber baby food. Topics include: the origination of the idea for incorporating baby foods into the Gerber product-line and the promotion campaign to introduce Gerber baby foods into grocery stores; changes in processing and packaging; personnel policies at Gerber; field operations; relationships between the company and growers; handling consumer complaints and importance of consumer preference to product development; criteria used to determine processing plant budget and output; handling processing plant wastes; attitude toward competition; sources of information; and relationships with glass and cap companies. Includes his impressions of Dan Gerber.
